Riverton City, Utah, is InterLocking’s Latest
Permitting-in-a-Box Client
Seattle, WA., September 27, 2005
–
InterLocking Software announced today that Riverton City, Utah, has
selected the company’s Permitting-in-a-Box all-in-one system to
replace the city’s current paper-based permit processing system. The
city’s Planning, Code Enforcement, Building, and Engineering
departments will all be using the system to process permits, manage
inspections, and keep up-to-date on code enforcement tasks. Riverton
City will also be using the system’s public Web portal component,
which will allow residents to review permit status information
directly.
“InterLocking was just head and
shoulders above every other company,” said Penny Atkinson,
Administrative Services Director for the city. “Because we don’t have an
IT department it was just unbelievable how easy it was to install and
run. The value that we’re getting for the money is just incredible.
We’ll be automating about half the city with one software application.”
Permitting-in-a-Box, a relatively new
offering from InterLocking Software, provides the same features and
functionality as the company’s enterprise-level Permitting system but is
designed to meet the needs of cities and counties that may have minimal
IT support, or smaller jurisdictions that are experiencing a surge in
construction and require an effective permit processing system to be put
in place immediately.
InterLocking was awarded the contract
from the city’s Planning department in August. The implementation
process began earlier this month and Riverton City expects to be up and
running on the system in November.
“I can’t tell you how excited we all
are,” said Atkinson.
