Florence, Arizona, Choosing InterLocking’s
Permitting-in-a-Box
Seattle, WA, September 1, 2005 –
InterLocking Software announced today that the Town of Florence,
Arizona, has selected the company’s Permitting-in-a-Box all-in-one
system to replace the town’s current paper-based permit processing
system. Florence will also be investing in InterLocking’s portable
field inspection device, which enables inspectors to access and
enter information into the permitting system directly from field
computers; and the public Web portal component, which will allow
residents to review permit status information directly.
“InterLocking’s Permitting-in-a-Box
was selected because of its ease of use and Web capabilities,” said
Larry Quick, Planning Director for Florence. “The system’s price per
value far exceeded that of the competitors.”
Permitting-in-a-Box is a relatively
new offering from InterLocking Software. It provides the same features
and functionality as the company’s enterprise-level Permitting system
but is designed to meet the needs of smaller jurisdictions, such as
Florence, which are experiencing a surge in growth and require an
effective permit processing system to be put in place immediately and
cost-effectively.
Implementation of the system began in
August and the town expects to be up and running with the new system by
October.
“Towns like Florence are exactly the
kinds of jurisdictions that Permitting-in-a-Box was designed for,” said
Jim Nall, President and CEO of InterLocking. “They are on the verge of a
major growth spurt and wanted to be fully prepared when it occurs. And
they wanted a system that will allow future integration with legacy
systems. It’s gratifying to know that we’ve met our goal of developing a
system that meets the needs of these cities and counties so well.”
