Press Release

InterLocking’s Permitting-in-a-Box Implemented in Arizona and Utah

Seattle, WA, February 28, 2006 – InterLocking Software announced today that two more city governments, Florence, Arizona, and Riverton City, Utah, are successfully up and running on the company’s Permitting-in-a-Box all-in-one system. The new system replaces both cities’ outdated paper-based systems. Florence has also invested in InterLocking’s portable field inspection device, which enables inspectors to access and enter information into the permitting system directly from field computers; and the public Web portal component, which will allow residents to review permit status information directly.

“The implementation process was practically seamless, which was vital, since we don’t have a dedicated IT department,” said Penny Atkinson, Administrative Services Director for Riverton City. “Since the system has been in place it has streamlined our workload immensely. It’s a huge technology leap for us.”

“InterLocking Software’s implementation team was knowledgeable and helpful,” said Larry Quick, Planning Director for Florence. “We were able to begin using the system quickly, with a very short learning curve.”

Permitting-in-a-Box, a relatively new offering from InterLocking Software, is as feature rich as the company’s enterprise-level Permitting system but is designed to meet the needs of smaller jurisdictions that require an effective permit processing system immediately and cost-effectively. Permitting-in-a-Box includes all the necessary computer hardware required to run the application, and each Permitting-in-a-Box system is custom-configured for the client before being implemented at the client site, so cities and counties can get up and running very quickly. InterLocking Software reports that Permitting-in-a-Box, which has been available for less than a year, continues to gain significant market share.

“It’s gratifying to see that we have addressed a technology need so accurately,” said Jim Nall, President and CEO of InterLocking Software.
